Parameters required for the test bench of the water pump

Taizhou Sanjia Technology Co., Ltd. will analyze the parameters required for the water pump test bench, including flow rate, speed, current, power, pressure (head), efficiency, and temperature rise.


· The system indicators comply with GB/T3216-89 "Test Methods for Centrifugal Pumps, Mixed Flow Pumps, Axial Flow Pumps, and Vortex Pumps" and GB/T12785-91 "Test Methods for Submersible Electric Pumps".

· Testing system accuracy: flow rate ± 0.5%, pressure ± 0.2%, speed ± 0.2%, voltage ± 0.5 level, current ± 0.5 level, power ± 0.5 level, temperature ± 1 ℃.

1、 Open type testing device:

1. Mainly conduct factory and type tests on submersible electric pumps.

2. The water pump testing system adopts an open structure standard test device, and the test circuit ensures that the liquid flow passing through the measurement section has an axisymmetric velocity distribution, isostatic pressure distribution, and vortex caused by no device.

3. The open water tank is located on or below the ground, and its depth and volume should meet the requirement that no vortex occurs during the maximum flow pump test.

4. The pipeline measurement loop consists of the measurement pipeline, pressure measuring device, flow sensor, regulating valve, quick connector, etc.

5. The pump head measurement shares a measurement circuit, and the pointer pressure gauge displays simultaneously. The connection between the pump outlet and the measurement pipeline uses a quick connector.

2、 Closed test apparatus:

1. Mainly responsible for factory testing, type testing, and cavitation testing of various centrifugal pumps, mixed flow pumps, axial flow pumps, and vortex pumps.

2. The standard test device adopts a closed structure, and the test circuit ensures that the liquid flow passing through the measurement section has an axisymmetric velocity distribution, isostatic pressure distribution, and vortex caused by the absence of the device.

3. The closed test device is located on the ground and consists of a cavitation cylinder, a steady flow cylinder, an oil and gas separation, a pressure equalization chamber, a pipeline system, a vacuum gauge, a vacuum pump, valves (or electric valves), etc.

Distribution equipment and high-voltage cabinet:

1) The capacity of power distribution should be selected based on the maximum power of product testing.

2) The test power supply can be selected from autotransformer voltage regulator, variable frequency power supply, soft starter or autotransformer starter.

3) High power water pump test: According to the maximum current of the water pump, a strong current cabinet is selected, with voltage levels of 3300V/1200V/660V/380V and current levels of 500A/300A/200A/100A/50A/5A, which can be selected in sequence. It is equipped with a built-in 0.2 level current transformer (or voltage transformer).

Software Introduction:

1) Type testing (performance testing) is conducted to determine the relationship between pump head, shaft power, efficiency, and flow rate. And draw the working characteristic curve. Operate the electric pump at rated voltage and rated flow rate for 1-2 hours to achieve a stable state. The experiment should start from the point of minimum power. For centrifugal pumps, the flow rate usually starts from zero and gradually increases to 115% or more of the flow rate at the high flow point. For mixed flow pumps, axial flow pumps, or vortex pumps, the flow rate should be gradually reduced from the fully open valve state to below 85% of the flow rate at the low flow point. At least 13 different flow points should be taken during this period, and the measuring points should be evenly distributed throughout the performance curve. For centrifugal pumps and vortex pumps, it should be above 13:00; For mixed flow pumps and axial flow pumps, the time should be above 15:00.

2) The load test (i.e. efficiency value) of the electric motor is indirectly measured using the rated voltage load method. By measuring and calculating, the system software can automatically draw the motor working characteristics η m=f (p2), I1=f (p2), Sref=f (p2), P1=f (p2).

3) The cavitation test determines the relationship between the critical cavitation allowance and flow rate of the pump. Follow up: Does the current to be measured on the test bench refer to the current of the motor? Answer: Regarding the follow-up question: Is it necessary to measure the current and voltage of the motor in order to obtain the input power of the pump? If so, can measuring the motor's speed and torque eliminate the need to measure the motor's voltage and current?
